Are You a Landmine, Chihara-san? has released “1, 2 Fanclub,” the second digital single performed by Mai Chihara, alongside its music video. Both were released on August 25, 2026, before the anime’s planned Japanese television debut in January 2027, as confirmed by Crunchyroll News’ announcement.
Mai Chihara gets a second character song
The music project began in June 2026 around Mai Chihara, voiced by Sayumi Suzushiro. Her first single, “Alien Alien,” followed on July 25, 2026. “1, 2 Fanclub” extends the character-focused release series, while the anime’s previously announced broadcast schedule remains unchanged.
The new track is a cover of a Vocaloid song written, composed, and arranged by MikitoP. The original version was created in August 2012 with GUMI and Kagamine Rin, making Mai Chihara’s release a new interpretation of an established song rather than an original composition for the anime.
A retro Chinese restaurant setting for the video
According to KING RECORDS’ announcement, the music video uses a retro Chinese restaurant atmosphere, SD-style characters, and several visual techniques. The cover art features an original illustration by Majiro, the anime’s character designer, while Mai Chihara’s costume was designed by Natsumi Sano.
Chinatsu Iwakura, Mai’s best friend in the story and a character voiced by Maaya Uchida, oversees the music project’s overall production. These releases give the anime’s cast and characters a presence before the adaptation reaches television.
The anime is still planned for January 2027 in Japan
The adaptation of Ryon’s manga remains announced for January 2027 in Japan. anime’s official website states that it will air on Thursdays at 12:26 a.m. across 28 channels in the MBS/TBS network’s Super Animeism TURBO programming block. The exact first-broadcast date has not been announced.
The streaming section still reads “COMING SOON.” No platform, French-language broadcast date, or international availability can therefore be confirmed. The music video adds to the anime’s promotional campaign but does not provide new information about access outside Japan.
“1, 2 Fanclub” is available alongside its music video since August 25, 2026. The next concrete anime milestone remains its planned Japanese broadcast in January 2027; the first-episode date and streaming services are still pending.
