Repairing the reactor starts the mission
An engineer reaches an alien colony cut off from Earth and must restore a failing fission reactor. The damage extends from an underground substation to an area near the degassing stack, turning the mission into a series of problems to diagnose rather than a fixed sequence of tasks.
Players receive objectives through Squire, the engineer’s digital assistant, but the trailer presents room to devise their own solution. That freedom is tested when the megastorm tears through the mining colony’s facilities and hostile creatures continue searching the buildings. official presentation
Four alien types change the threat
The aliens shown in the trailer hunt in packs, use the environment and adapt their behavior to the scenario and the player’s approach. The four identified types are Soldiers, Scuttlers, Blister Scuttlers and Scuttler Swarms.
The protagonist is an engineer with basic combat training rather than a super-soldier. Their arsenal includes a pistol, a submachine gun and a shotgun. Exploration can uncover blueprints for additions such as optics, stocks, barrels and 3D-printed magazines.
The hammer also serves a practical purpose: it can repair certain reactor components and drive back creatures, especially flying Scuttlers. A Geiger counter, grenades, flares and health injectors round out the equipment shown.
No date beyond spring 2027
Alien Deathstorm is available to wishlist, but the exact release date, price and edition remain unannounced. No additional platforms have been confirmed. The trailer establishes the central tension between repairing critical infrastructure, managing limited equipment and surviving enemies that adjust their hunt, without yet providing a complete launch schedule.
For now, spring 2027 and day-one Game Pass access are the only confirmed release markers. The Reactor mission gives the clearest look yet at how the game combines environmental repairs with an adaptive alien threat.
