Patch 1.6.2f1, “Autumn Breeze,” is now available on Steam for Cities: Skylines II, according to official post published on September 15, 2026. The update changes several simulation systems, adds Editor and Paradox Mods features, and continues to support loading older saves.

Waste and housing now respond differently

Garbage trucks reserve their capacity more effectively for their intended destination and are more likely to ignore buildings producing only very small amounts of waste. The amount of waste also has a greater influence on citizens’ happiness, making collection problems more directly connected to how residents feel about the city.

Business rental priorities now favor companies producing the resources the city needs most. Residential demand also takes the city’s size into account when measuring the effect of vacant housing, correcting the lack of residential demand that could occur in very large cities.

Citizen finances use income rather than wealth when determining happiness, purchasing choices and leisure choices. Teenagers who become adults now remain in the parental home until they find affordable housing, which changes how residential demand and household moves can develop.

Cars and office imports receive targeted fixes

The update fixes cars being left behind when a citizen returns home by another means, when a household moves, or when a car disappears because no parking space is available. It also corrects an issue that prevented offices from importing software through external connections.

New Editor and Paradox Mods options

The patch adds the –startEditor launch parameter, which opens the Editor at startup. The Editor now supports frosted and opaque window types, along with import settings specific to each type. Tree level-of-detail quality and performance have also been improved, and the European spruce joins the available assets.

Paradox Mods introduces collaborators and mod management in Paradox Launcher. The Browse tab can exclude tags, while playset settings now let players enable or disable automatic mod downloads.

The Coherent Gameface framework has been upgraded to version 2.2.1. The official post warns that a limited number of mods may be affected, but does not identify which mods are concerned or describe the impact on each one. Older saves remain loadable after the update, although mod users should account for that compatibility warning when returning to an existing city.
