Hoxxes Halloween 2026 is live in Deep Rock Galactic, bringing the new Straw Boss hat, returning Halloween headwear and flying skulls that award a bonus. The event ends on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 13:00 CET, or 12:00 UTC.
In its October 22 update, the official announcement sets out separate requirements for the hats and the skull bonus. Completing assignments unlocks the headwear; shooting down and depositing flying skulls earns the Double Performance Point Bonus.
Straw Boss and returning hats have separate assignments
The new Straw Boss hat is the reward for completing the Halloween assignment. Taking part in the event is not enough to unlock it: the assignment must be finished. For players interested in this year's addition, completing that assignment is the condition for claiming the reward.
The returning collection comes through Last Year’s Horrors. Completing that assignment unlocks all previous Halloween hats, giving players who missed earlier rewards a way to collect them during this event.
The assignment you choose therefore depends on which rewards you want: Last Year’s Horrors covers the returning collection, while the Halloween assignment awards Straw Boss. Players seeking both the new hat and the older headwear need to complete both assignments before the event ends.

Shoot down flying skulls, then deposit them
Flying skulls provide another seasonal objective. To receive the Double Performance Point Bonus, players must shoot them down and then deposit them. The deposit is part of the requirement, so bringing down a skull alone does not complete the action needed for the reward.
The announced bonus is tied to shooting down and depositing skulls. Its name should not be read as a promise that all experience earned throughout Halloween is doubled. The distinction matters when pursuing the seasonal rewards: finishing the hat assignments and depositing skulls fulfil different conditions, with headwear attached to the former and the performance point bonus attached to the latter.
The Space Rig also receives haunted decorations, bringing the Halloween theme to the hub alongside the assignments and flying skulls.
Choose the assignment that matches the hats you want and finish it before the November 5 deadline. If you also pursue flying skulls, make sure to deposit them to secure their bonus.
