The 1998 Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R is Forza Horizon 5’s announced reward car for October 15–22, with an unlock threshold of 20 seasonal points. For players targeting the Mitsubishi, the weekly Forzathon challenge, The Trial and a photo challenge offer most of the required total between them.
The official October 15 announcement gives those dates, although the seasonal heading above its rewards table conflicts with the introduction. The schedule therefore carries that qualification; no closing time or time zone is specified.
Three challenges put 17 points toward the FTO
The weekly Forzathon challenge, “Super Veloce,” requires the 1997 Lamborghini Diablo SV. Completing it awards 5 seasonal points and 160 Forzathon points. Keep those currencies separate when tracking progress: only the seasonal points count toward the FTO’s unlock threshold.
The Trial, “Rally Cat,” contributes the largest share of this selection, awarding 10 seasonal points alongside a 1999 Ford Racing Puma Forza Edition. Entry requires 1990s rally cars in A 800. A car’s age alone does not make it eligible: it must also meet the rally category and class restrictions.
The “#TheCarlton” photo challenge calls for a photograph of the 1990 Vauxhall Lotus Carlton. Its rewards are 2 seasonal points and Police Siren. That makes the Carlton another specific vehicle to account for when preparing these activities, alongside the Diablo and an eligible rally car.
Together, these challenges award 17 seasonal points. From a standing start, that leaves three more points to earn before reaching the Mitsubishi. The selection therefore covers much of the target, but completing all of it does not unlock the car by itself.

The FTO comes with Forza and Bozz Speed customization
The Mitsubishi’s announced customization options include Forza and Bozz Speed parts: 2 front bumpers, 2 rear wings and an option to remove the wing. These give players several ways to change the reward car’s appearance once it is earned. The announcement does not attach quantified performance gains to those parts.
Players continuing beyond the FTO have a Backstage Pass at 40 points in the same rewards table. The series rewards sit at separate thresholds: the 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E at 80 points and the 1992 GMC Typhoon at 160 points. Neither series milestone is the requirement for unlocking the Mitsubishi.
If the FTO is your target, focus on the 20-point seasonal threshold. The listed challenges account for 17 points, so players starting from zero need to complete additional activities before claiming the car.
