Published on August 25, 2026 by the Java Team, Minecraft 26.3 Snapshot 10 introduces several changes to Java Edition. The update is primarily aimed at datapacks, while also adjusting a few visible gameplay elements.
A new panorama and clearer movement feedback
The main menu now features a spotted forest panorama with an abandoned camp. The Adventure mode icon has also been replaced by a buried treasure map.
Realms now includes an introduction screen accessible through the Add Realm button. Chorus Fruit teleports display particles in the direction of travel, and subtitles indicate the most recent sound in the area.
Enchantments now apply to damaged items when they protect an undead mob from sunlight.
/compute expands what datapacks can calculate
The snapshot’s main technical addition is /compute, a command that evaluates minecraft:number_provider values in several execution contexts. It is intended mainly for datapacks, custom maps and systems built around calculated values.
The Data Pack version is now 118.0, while the Resource Pack version reaches 97.0. The none swing animation type returns for /swing, as well as for minecraft:attack_animation and minecraft:interact_animation.
Structure locating improves while drowned changes are reverted
Structure locating benefits from performance improvements. For this cycle, the recent changes to drowned behavior and animations have been reverted. Several maps have also been renamed, including Ocean Monument Explore Map, Swamp Hut Explorer Map and Trial Chambers Explorer Map.
