Monster Hunter Wilds will distribute one final batch of free appearance-editing vouchers on December 3, 2026. The official Steam announcement published on September 17, 2026 confirms that distribution will end on that date across all platforms, while vouchers already owned will remain usable until Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance launches in 2027.
After applying the December 3 update, players will automatically receive 10 Character Edit Vouchers and 10 Palico Edit Vouchers, added to their existing balances. The announcement does not provide a time of day for the update or automatic grants. For the full notice, see theofficial announcement
Appearance changes become free with Ascendance
The larger change is scheduled for the Ver. 2 update released with Ascendance. From that launch, players will be able to re-edit their hunter's appearance as often as they want, free of charge and without using a Character Edit Voucher. The feature will also apply to the base game of Monster Hunter Wilds, rather than being limited to the expansion.
This creates a clear transition. Free voucher distribution continues only until December 3, existing vouchers can be used between that update and the expansion's release, and Character Edit Vouchers will no longer be available once Ascendance launches. The expansion currently has only a 2027 release window in this notice, so the final date for using the remaining vouchers cannot be narrowed further.
A thank-you set for selected voucher purchases
Players who purchased the Character & Palico Edit Voucher: 3-Voucher Pack, the Character Edit Voucher: 3-Voucher Pack or the Palico Edit Voucher: 3-Voucher Pack will automatically receive the Special Thank-You Pendant Set after applying the December 3 update.
The set contains the Heavenly Hog and Beelzeboar pendants. The official notice also lists those 3 voucher packs among the discontinued items. It says the 2 pendants may become available separately at a later date, but gives no date, price or currency for that possibility.
December 3 is therefore a distribution deadline, not the deadline for using existing vouchers. The immediate benefit is the automatic addition of 10 vouchers of each type; the permanent change arrives later, when Ver. 2 makes hunter appearance edits free and unlimited in both Ascendance and the base game.
