Once Human character customization will no longer require items for three specific changes. The update announced for September 28—with all dates in the announcement given in PT—will remove the item cost for reshaping the face and body, as well as changing hair color.

Confirmed Once Human free character customization changes
The current system requires Chrysalis Tokens to reshape facial features and body shape. Changing hair color requires Butterfly Dye. The development team attributes the reform to the complexity of the current process and the high cost of trying different customization options.
Once the update is applied, the Floor Mirror in a territory will allow players to freely modify their face and body shape. Hair dyeing will work directly from the color palette, so neither operation will require players to have a consumable in advance.
Existing items will not disappear from the inventory. However, Chrysalis Tokens and Butterfly Dyes will be removed from the sales channels listed in the announcement: the shop, Wish Bazaar, New/Returning Player Recruit Shop and Currency Quick Redeem. Using a Chrysalis Token after the update will grant 60 Colorful Badges, while using a Butterfly Dye will grant 30 Colorful Badges. These badges can unlock dyed variants in the closet, save outfit dye presets, purchase dye items in the shop or obtain cosmetics from the Radiance Shop.
Gender changes will follow a different rule. The Metamorphosis Token will still be required, but its announced price will fall from 880 to 300 Crystgin. Purchases of Chrysalis Tokens and Butterfly Dyes made in the shop with Crystgin or Colorful Badges during the three months before the update will be fully refunded, based on the currency and quantity consumed. For Metamorphosis Tokens purchased during the same period, the announcement provides a refund equal to 70% of the difference between the old and new prices. Compensation will be sent automatically through in-game mail; players with questions about the amount received can contact in-game customer service.
Players considering a redesign will need to wait until the September 28 deployment, for which no time has been announced. Face, body-shape and hair-color changes will no longer consume items, but gender changes will remain tied to the Metamorphosis Token, and refunds will depend on the specified three-month purchase window.
