Quarantine Zone: Miami Zero adds a new campaign to Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, free for owners of the original game. In its October 15, 2026 announcement, Xbox Wire announces the expansion as available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The setting moves to Miami during the early days of the outbreak.

The free offer applies to the expansion for existing owners; it does not make the original game free. The announcement also mentions access through Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. For players who own the game, the new campaign requires no additional purchase.

New symptoms and concealed drugs widen inspections

Miami Zero adds suspicious scars, rotten organs and stomach parasites to the signs encountered during inspections. The additions broaden what players must look for when examining people arriving at the checkpoint, extending the campaign’s changes into the screening work itself.

Inspections also involve searching for hidden drugs. Survivors can conceal them under a hat, swallow them or hide them in a clenched fist. Those examples give searches a different focus alongside symptoms: an examination can reveal contraband as well as signs of infection, with hiding places spanning clothing and the body.

The campaign introduces more than 30 unique survivors, with distinct personalities, dialogue, appearances and quirks. That gives the new arrivals a role beyond presenting another symptom to identify: their conversations and individual characteristics also contribute to the encounters at the checkpoint.

Experiments can put the checkpoint in danger

A new research center allows experiments on infected people. Those experiments can produce mutants that threaten the checkpoint, making the facility a potential source of danger within the operation. The risk is tied directly to its work: experimenting on the infected can create another threat for the checkpoint to face.

Alongside those duties, a quest to repair a boat runs throughout the campaign, with the goal of leaving. It gives the Miami story a longer objective beyond individual inspections: working toward an escape while the checkpoint remains central to the campaign.

The setting also gains dynamic weather, ranging from sunshine to dust storms and tropical rain. Xbox Wire also announces adjustments to the original campaign, although it does not specify those changes.

For existing owners, Miami Zero adds a campaign whose changes reach from the examination process to the dangers surrounding the checkpoint. The boat provides an escape to work toward, while the research center introduces a concrete complication: the experiments conducted there can produce mutants capable of threatening the site.
