Stellar Blade PC review: performance and buying verdict

Stellar Blade is a single-player action adventure built around the flow of each fight. Attacks, dodges and parries matter against regular foes and bosses alike.

The PC port offers useful options. Steam lists DLSS 4, DLAA, NVIDIA Reflex, FSR 3, 21:9 and 32:9 display support, plus unlocked frame rates. It also lists a 4K environment texture option.

The official Steam demo is the safest first step. Use it to check frame pacing, lock-on behaviour, camera comfort and your system’s stability before paying.

Steam’s minimum target is 1080p at 60fps on Low settings. It lists an Intel Core i5-7600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, 16 GB of RAM, and a GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 580 8 GB. A hard drive is supported at that level, although an SSD is recommended.

The recommended target moves to 1440p at 60fps on Medium settings. Steam lists a Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 3600X with an RTX 2060 Super or RX 5700 XT. An SSD is required for that target. The game needs 75 GB of available storage.

Those targets come from the publisher. They cannot predict every PC. Start with a sensible preset, then adjust resolution, textures and upscaling based on the performance headroom you actually have.

Stellar Blade PC controls and content

Full mouse-and-keyboard support is available. Steam also lists haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for a DualSense connected through wired USB. Try both inputs in the demo if parry timing or camera control is important to you.

Controller play may suit players who prefer circular movement and quick direction changes. Mouse and keyboard can feel more direct for camera control. Neither option removes the need to read enemy attacks. A missed parry still hurts, whatever sits on the desk.

EVE’s mission combines exploration, weapon upgrades, skill progression and boss fights. Steam also lists Boss Challenge Mode against Mann, Chinese and Japanese voice-over with lip sync, 25 outfits, three pairs of glasses, six pairs of earrings and 45 achievements.

Stellar Blade is available on PC and PlayStation 5. Steam showed the Standard Edition at €69.99 and the Complete Edition at €89.99 at the French reference price checked. Promotions can change those amounts.

The game uses Denuvo Anti-Tamper. Steam states that players can activate it on up to five different systems per day. That limit matters if you often change machines.

Steam does not list multiplayer. The value proposition is a solo campaign, its combat system and EVE’s progression. Browse our reviews, our PC section and the latest news for more coverage. The official PlayStation page also details the announced PC features.

Stellar Blade PC review verdict

Stellar Blade PC is a strong choice for players who want a focused single-player action adventure with demanding, readable fights. Its graphics options are substantial, while the demo makes the purchase easier to judge.

Wait for a sale if the €69.99 price is beyond your budget or if co-op is your priority. Otherwise, download the demo, check your controller connection and keep SSD space free before committing to EVE’s campaign.
