Tales of Eternia Remastered is available on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, according to Bandai Namco Entertainment America’s launch announcement dated October 16, 2026. This American announcement does not establish availability in French storefronts. Alongside the release, the publisher details options for changing the adventure’s presentation, progression and battle pace.
Players can adjust experience gains and encounter frequency, switch between original and remastered graphics and sound effects, and select Extreme difficulty from the beginning. Unknown difficulty has a separate requirement: completing the game.

Original graphics and sound effects remain an option
Graphics Mode and SFX Mode let players switch between the remastered graphics and sound effects and their original versions. Returning players can therefore choose the original presentation, while those interested in the remastered versions can select those instead. The announced audio setting concerns sound effects; a corresponding option for the soundtrack is not confirmed.
The adventure follows Reid Hershel, Farah, Keele and Meredy as they try to prevent the Grand Fall from destroying Inferia and Celestia. Their quest to save these worlds provides the story’s central stakes, alongside the presentation and progression choices detailed for this release.
Boost changes progression and encounter frequency
The Boost feature lets players adjust experience gains and encounter frequency. These settings address different aspects of the adventure: experience gains affect progression, while encounter frequency controls how often players enter battles along the way. The announcement does not specify adjustment ranges or multipliers, leaving the extent of those changes unclear.
Destination icons can also be enabled or disabled, allowing players to choose whether those navigation indicators appear. A separate option changes battle pace: during battles in Auto-mode, players can enable a speed-up mode. That announcement applies specifically to combat in Auto-mode and does not establish an acceleration option for the adventure as a whole.
Battle Retry and Quick Recovery are also included. Bandai Namco names both features in its launch announcement but does not explain how they work or the conditions under which players can use them.
Extreme is available immediately; Unknown requires completion
Extreme can be selected from the beginning, so players interested in that difficulty do not need to finish the adventure to access it. Unknown follows a different rule: it unlocks after completing the game. That distinction matters when choosing a difficulty for an initial playthrough.
The remaster offers choices over presentation, progression, encounter frequency and navigation indicators, with acceleration specifically announced for Auto-mode battles. Players choosing a difficulty also have a clear condition to consider: Extreme is available at the outset, while Unknown requires completion.
