The First Descendant is set to rework Freyna’s skills in its October 15 update, removing the duration limit on her ultimate and adding damage scaling with MP. The update also introduces Onslaught Stage 5 and a daily boost for Transcendent weapon drops.

Published on October 13, Dev Note vol.30 previews the changes planned for Thursday, October 15. The developer warns that some details may change at release; the preview does not specify a deployment time.

Freyna’s ultimate will run until the magazine is empty

Freyna’s skill 2 will grant Concealment immediately and create a Catalyst Zone that deals additional damage to enemies affected by Room 0 Trauma. Her skill 4 will lose its duration limit, remaining usable until the magazine is empty.

Her skills will also gain damage proportional to MP, with the maximum reached at 645 MP. The announced ceiling gives Freyna players a specific threshold to consider when revisiting their builds, although the preview does not provide the full damage formula.

The new Trigger Module, Prepping in the Dark, connects to this revised kit. Ground DoT and Concealment skills will trigger it, reducing skill 4’s cooldown and increasing Toxic Skill Power. The size of the bonuses has not been specified.

Gley’s Explosive Life will lose its firearm effects and instead strengthen Skill Power and Skill Critical Hit Rate. This redirects the module’s bonuses toward skills. For Enzo, Reinforce Front Line will make skill 3 follow the character and buff nearby allies within a 22.5-meter radius, allowing its support effect to move with him.

Onslaught Stage 5 changes the weekly reward

Phase 2 of Karel’s Mothership Conquest is scheduled to end with the October 15 update. Onslaught Stage 5 will arrive on Axion Plains with an entry requirement of at least 93,300 Arche Activity, associated with Transcendent weapon tier 4.

The weekly reward will guarantee one Transcendent option, compared with 2 guaranteed Ultimate options at Stage 4. Stage 5 therefore offers a different category of guaranteed option, with fewer options guaranteed. Players choosing between those stages will be weighing different equipment rewards.

Trials will receive a second map and a daily rotation. According to the developer, rewards and completion time will remain identical. The addition offers a change of map while preserving those parts of the activity’s structure.

Transcendent drops get a daily rotation boost

Monster Hunter is set to join the weapon lineup as a Transcendent assault rifle. Its purple option will make shots ricochet toward up to 5 nearby enemies after hitting an Elite or a Tyrant. That initial hit is the condition for triggering the ricochets.

Rotation Boost will change its featured content each day, with boosted activities listed in the map’s “Content with Ongoing Events” menu. For players pursuing Transcendent weapons, that menu will show where the current bonus applies.

The 15% increase is a separate multiplier applied to existing drop rates, rather than an addition of 15 percentage points. It improves the underlying chance proportionally; the bonus itself is not the resulting drop rate.

Weapon retirement is a separate change planned for the November update. The Transcendent pool will contain twelve weapons, with an existing weapon retiring when a thirteenth is added. November’s plans include a Transcendent version of EXCAVA and the retirement of Malicious Dominator.

Retirement will stop new drops without removing weapons already obtained. Those weapons will remain usable and tradable, so the change concerns future loot availability rather than access to equipment in a player’s collection.

Descendant control loadouts and the Halloween pass

Keyboard, mouse and controller settings will be saveable in loadouts for each Descendant and recalled at any time. Players who use different controls across characters will be able to keep those configurations separately. Integration with presets is planned for a later update, with no date announced.

Melee attack speed will also be redistributed: base speed will increase while modules contribute less. The developer intends to preserve the same final speed after a build is complete. This gives more speed to the base character without promising a faster finished build.

The Halloween Event Pass is scheduled for October 15, offering a free track and a premium track priced at 700 Caliber. Overhaul Descendant Deployment Mission is also set to begin that day for Descendants at Mastery Rank 20 or below.

Freyna players have concrete changes to reassess, while Onslaught Stage 5 offers a different guaranteed weekly reward for those meeting its entry requirement. Weapon collectors have a separate milestone in November: Malicious Dominator is scheduled to leave the drop pool, but copies already obtained will remain usable and tradable.
