The First Descendant patch 1.4.6, detailed on October 22, 2026 for Steam, Xbox and PS5, adjusts Ultimate Gley, Freyna and Ultimate Freyna, and updates how Trials handles changes in squad size. The team asks players to log back into the game to help sessions run smoothly.
The character changes need to be read together: Freyna’s higher damage multipliers accompany a fix for damage being applied twice, while Ultimate Gley gains a faster firing rate alongside a lower explosion multiplier. Neither set of changes establishes a straightforward increase in overall damage.
Ultimate Gley fires faster with Demonic Modification
With Ultimate Gley’s Demonic Modification Transcendent Module, the unique weapon’s fixed fire rate rises from 120 to 157 rounds per minute. Its explosion damage multiplier falls from 8,942.0% to 6,259.4% of Skill Power, while the explosion damage bonus from True Aim increases from 44.2% to 92.1% per 0.1 seconds.
That combination changes the balance between firing speed, explosion damage and True Aim’s contribution. The figures in the official October 22 patch notes describe individual parameters; they do not establish an overall DPS gain or loss in combat. For players using Demonic Modification, the lower explosion multiplier is therefore only part of the adjustment.
Ultimate Gley’s Explosive Life Transcendent Module receives a separate change: the maximum number of Life Spheres she can generate increases from 10 to 20.
Freyna’s higher multipliers accompany a damage fix
For Freyna and Ultimate Freyna’s default skills, Toxic Reaction’s damage-over-time multiplier increases from 256.3% to 512.6%. The corresponding multipliers for Panic, Decay and Nightmare rise from 335.2% to 670.4%.
The patch also fixes an issue that applied damage from Panic, Despair, Decay, Nightmare and Toxic Reaction twice when inflicted by Room 0 Trauma through their skills. Although the listed multipliers double, that does not mean either character now deals twice as much damage in play: the duplicate application is being removed at the same time.
Both versions of Freyna also gain a conditional reapplication of Room 0 Trauma. Toxic Puddles and Toxic Swamps can apply it again to targets once the immunity granted by Catalyst Zone has been removed. The removal of that immunity remains the condition for reapplication.

Trials responds to changes in squad size
Trials combat difficulty now adjusts to the new squad size when membership changes during a session. This covers a squad gaining or losing a member, so the adjustment is no longer tied solely to the group present at the start.
The team also announces a fix for the missing portal to the final area of Trials: Protocol 001, alongside the return of the daily dungeon rotation. In Cradle of Evolution, a portal to the next combat area appears at the end of an area if the target number of essence extractions has not been reached.
The Trigger Prepping in the Dark module’s cooldown also drops from 18 to 0 seconds.
Log back in as requested before resuming play. When assessing a Gley or Freyna build after the update, account for the combined changes rather than treating a single multiplier as a measure of the build’s final damage.
