Albion Online will launch Dragonfire on August 31, 2026. The update introduces Dragon Sanctuary, a PvE raid for 20 players, as well as open-world dragon attacks and new rewards. The official Dev Talk, published on August 28, details the announced content.
Entering Dragon Sanctuary requires a group of 20 players and a Waystone. This rare resource comes from the Ancient Lands, can be traded and is available for purchase on the Marketplace.
A two-boss raid led by Azaryon
Dragon Sanctuary contains no PvP, and its monsters are immune to forced movement. Knockbacks and similar effects therefore cannot offer a universal solution inside the raid.
The group first faces Maeve, the Unfettered Oracle, before reaching Azaryon, the Fire Dragon. Azaryon’s encounter unfolds across several phases, with movement, positioning and threat management making coordination important alongside damage output.
Defeating Azaryon grants every group member a Lingering Dragon Spirit. The effect lasts for one week and increases the difficulty of Dragon Sanctuary during that period. Players who chain attempts will therefore face a stronger challenge after securing the immediate victory.
Different dragon attacks across Albion
On the Royal Continent, dragon attacks appear spontaneously and leave behind a chest that participants can access. In the Outlands, the attacks are announced several hours in advance and place guilds in competition for rewards and Season Points. The same event thus supports immediate participation in one area and organized preparation in another.
The announced rewards include equipment, potential mounts and consumables. The Dragonslayer Armor belongs to the equipment set, while Drake Eggs can evolve into a Firewing Drake. The reward list also includes Drake Biscuits, the Omelette and the Lifeward Potion, with effects connected to Fame, healing and protection against death.
Dragonfire’s confirmed scope is clear: a demanding 20-player raid, territory-dependent dragon attacks and the listed rewards. The Dev Talk does not yet specify the detailed mechanics of the additional difficulty, numerical statistics, drop rates or the number of available Waystones.
The release remains scheduled for August 31, 2026. The exact launch time, platforms and regions concerned are not specified in the Dev Talk. Albion Online's Steam post
