Sett and Samira are scheduled to join 2XKO on October 27 with patch 1.3.3. Riot announced the upcoming arrival on October 22, alongside a look at Sett’s development, from its early prototype to the team’s release requirements.
For players waiting for either fighter, the announcement puts both on the same update schedule. Sett’s production began in mid-February 2026, according to Riot, with Haymaker providing the starting point and individual moves being locked in as development progressed.
Sett and Samira share the October update
The “Upcoming Dates” section of Riot's post lists Samira and Sett with patch 1.3.3 on October 27. This is a scheduled release date, rather than an announcement of immediate availability. Riot gives neither a deployment time nor a time zone, so the date does not establish the exact moment players will be able to access the champions.
While the calendar brings the pair together, the development retrospective follows Sett. Its account distinguishes the speed of getting a playable prototype running from the quality requirement the team had set for his release.

Sett’s development started with Haymaker
Producer Thomas Koos identifies Haymaker as the starting point for Sett’s development. Riot says the team obtained a complete model and a playable prototype of the kit within two weeks. That milestone gave the developers a working version of the character; it did not mark the end of production.
Sett’s designer describes a departure from the team’s usual approach to champion creation. Instead of locking in the entire kit at a single stage, the developers finalized moves progressively. The distinction is about how the character’s design took shape: an early playable kit could exist while decisions about its individual moves were still being settled.
Riot also describes a condition attached to releasing Sett: he had to reach a level of quality comparable to the other champions before July. This was an internal development requirement, not an independently measured assessment of his balance or competitive strength.
Haymaker’s role explains where the team began building Sett, without establishing how powerful the move will be in matches. For players, the concrete change is the scheduled addition of Sett alongside Samira; the production story explains the work behind that arrival.
