BLESS will stream on Crunchyroll in January 2027, with coverage announced worldwide except Japan and China. The anime adapts Yukino Sonoyama’s manga, whose premise brings an aspiring makeup artist and a school fashion show competition together.
January 2027 is a release window, rather than a confirmed premiere date. For viewers planning what to watch, it places the adaptation on the calendar without yet fixing a day to start watching.
Crunchyroll confirms international streaming
In its October 22, 2026 announcement, Crunchyroll confirmed the streaming plans and their territorial scope. The worldwide announcement includes the exceptions for Japan and China; those exclusions concern this Crunchyroll release and should not be read as a statement about other distribution arrangements.
For readers following Sonoyama’s manga, the announcement establishes where the screen adaptation is headed in the covered territories. For viewers discovering BLESS through the anime, its central premise offers a more specific introduction than the release window alone: a student’s ambition to work in makeup becomes tied to preparing someone else for a competition.
Aia’s ambition meets a school fashion show
According to Kodansha’s synopsis, shared by Crunchyroll, Aia wants to become a makeup artist and offers to do Jun’s makeup for a school fashion show competition. His proposed contribution puts that ambition into practice within the school event.
The connection between the career goal and the competition gives the setup its focus. Aia is offering the very skill he hopes to build a future around, while Jun is the person he proposes to prepare for the show. Makeup is therefore part of the action described in the premise, as well as Aia’s intended profession.
A-1 Pictures brings Sonoyama’s manga to the screen
Shotaro Kitamura is directing the adaptation at A-1 Pictures. The original manga began in January 2022, and Crunchyroll reported nine volumes published in Japan as of October 22, 2026.
That publication history gives the anime an established body of source material. The volume count describes the manga at the time of the announcement, however, rather than how much of its story the adaptation will cover.
For now, January 2027 is the date to keep in mind for BLESS on Crunchyroll in the announced territories. Find more anime news on JEU.VIDEO.
