The V0.8.7 update for Bodycam has been available on Steam since September 3, 2026, through Steam. The update changes the score required to finish two modes, adds several settings and addresses technical issues affecting weapons, controls, visibility, audio, stability and Steam connections. Zombie mode remains unavailable after the patch.

Two modes now require more kills

Team Deathmatch now ends at 75 kills, compared with 50 before the update. Standard Deathmatch has also moved from 30 to 40 kills. These changes raise the threshold required to end a round, so players returning to either mode should expect matches to continue beyond the previous score limit. The patch notes change the kill targets; they do not establish a new fixed match duration.

V0.8.7 also adds an option to mute other players individually. This gives players more control over voice communication during a match without requiring them to mute everyone at once. On the graphics side, the update introduces the DLSS Multi Frame Generation setting. A Film Grain option has been added as well, while keyboard shortcuts have been removed.

The map list has been reorganized, with Trenches placed first. That is a change to the order in which the maps are presented, not an announcement of a new map. Players looking for a specific arena may therefore see a different list order after installing the update.

Technical fixes cover several parts of a match

The patch addresses situations affecting Gun Game and Wingman, along with bolt-action weapon reloading and tablet controls. The notes also mention adjustments related to visibility and audio, as well as broader stability improvements and problems connecting to Steam. They describe several separate areas of the game rather than one single gameplay overhaul.

Startup behavior receives a clearer change. When the connection fails, a dedicated error message now replaces the black screen that could previously appear. This does not restore a failed connection, but it makes the problem visible instead of leaving players without a clear explanation. Bodycam Steam page remains the access point for the game and its update.

Zombie mode will not return on a fixed date yet

The team has disabled Zombie mode because of regressions and plans to rework it ahead of an event around Halloween. The announcement does not provide a precise schedule, so the mode has not been assigned a confirmed reactivation date. For now, its absence is a current limitation of the available modes rather than a permanent removal.

The Party System is not part of V0.8.7 either. Invitations, group matchmaking and access to ongoing matches remain listed as upcoming features. Economic adjustments and anti-cheat integration are also still in development, with no release date announced for any of them.

For the modes currently available on Steam, the practical changes are the higher kill limits, the additional options and the listed technical fixes. Players planning a session should also account for Zombie mode being disabled and the Party System still being unavailable. Bodycam coverage remains accessible through JEU.VIDEO.
