Gears of War: E-Day is now streaming on GeForce NOW, following its global release on October 6. NVIDIA confirms its arrival in its GFN Thursday post dated October 8, 2026, opening another route into the game across the devices supported by its cloud service.
NVIDIA lists low-power laptops, Macs, mobile devices and handhelds among those access routes, alongside Firefox and other browsers. The practical change is where players can access E-Day: someone using a low-power laptop can stream the game through GeForce NOW, while Mac and handheld users are also among the audiences named in the announcement.
The store launch and cloud rollout have separate timelines. NVIDIA says games are onboarded after their store releases and added throughout the week, so availability can vary. Although the company reports E-Day as streaming, players should check that it appears in their GeForce NOW catalogue before planning a session.

Ultimate carries NVIDIA’s performance promise
For GeForce NOW Ultimate members, NVIDIA advertises GeForce RTX 5080-class performance in the cloud, with NVIDIA DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex. The company ties that combination to Ultimate, making the subscription tier relevant for players drawn to the announcement’s technical claims.
Those are NVIDIA’s advertised capabilities, not independently measured results for E-Day. The announcement supports a distinction between access to the game through GeForce NOW and the performance offered with Ultimate; it does not establish that every subscription delivers the same experience. Players considering the service for this release should keep that distinction in mind when choosing a tier.
Marcus and Dom face Emergence Day
E-Day takes place fourteen years before the original Gears of War, following Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago as they face the Locust Horde on Emergence Day. That setting places the story at the outbreak of the invasion. NVIDIA names campaign, cooperative and competitive modes in its announcement.
The weekly catalogue lists E-Day as a new Steam and Xbox release on October 6 and says it is available on Game Pass. It appears in a selection of ten games, including seven new releases. For other announcements across the industry, visit our gaming news.
GeForce NOW gives players on the listed devices another way into this Gears prequel. Check catalogue availability for access, and look specifically to Ultimate if NVIDIA’s advertised RTX 5080-class performance is what attracts you to the cloud release.
