NBA 2K27 is coming to GeForce NOW with a cloud-exclusive graphics feature: DLSS 5 3D-Guided Neural Rendering. NVIDIA says the technology improves lighting, materials and selected facial details without requiring a local installation.
In a post published on 3 September 2026, NVIDIA announces 28 additional games on GeForce NOW in September lists NBA 2K27 among the week's new Steam releases. That confirms its place in the GeForce NOW lineup, but does not establish a general release date for PlayStation, Xbox or other platforms.
DLSS 5 focuses on NBA 2K27's presentation
According to NVIDIA, the technology developed with Visual Concepts and 2K is designed to change how light interacts with the court, players' hair and their skin. It should also retain more detail in the facial geometry of real athletes, supporting the television-style presentation promoted for NBA 2K27.
The announcement gives no figures for resolution, frame rate, performance or latency. DLSS 5 is therefore a documented visual feature, but there is not yet a measurable basis for comparing it with local rendering or another cloud gaming service.
GeForce NOW access is tied to Ultimate
Eligible GeForce NOW Ultimate members will be able to stream NBA 2K27 on PC, Mac, handheld devices, mobile devices and supported televisions. The practical benefit is straightforward: players can access the game without downloading it or managing its local storage.
The compromise is the subscription and the remote hardware. NVIDIA presents DLSS 5 as running on infrastructure equipped with a GeForce RTX 5080, while the described access applies to the Ultimate plan in regions operated by the company. NVIDIA has not specified the territories concerned, connection requirements, subscription price or compatible editions of NBA 2K27, so availability may vary by country and account.
A cloud announcement, not a wider platform confirmation
NVIDIA says that 10 games are joining its library this week, bringing the monthly total to 28 titles. For NBA 2K27, the announcement covers GeForce NOW streaming and rendering associated with RTX 5080 servers; it does not yet show how the result will hold up across different devices, networks or connection conditions.
NBA 2K27 is consequently positioned as a showcase for DLSS 5 within GeForce NOW, with access limited to the Ultimate plan, NVIDIA-operated regions and the announced server hardware. Until performance measurements, territories and pricing conditions are available, the confirmed benefit remains the cloud-based presentation feature rather than a proven improvement for every player.
