PRISON OF HUSKS is scheduled to launch on Steam and PS5 on January 27, 2027. Its Steam announcement, published on October 8, 2026, also says the v0.8.1d demo is playable.
What changes in the demo
Parrying now triggers when the button is pressed, with no delay, and does not consume stamina by default. The stamina regeneration ring is no longer equipped by default, and item combining (“Combining”) has been removed.

The demo adds collectible pages to the sketchbook for its tutorial and story, and lets players reconfigure controls. It also includes Chinese, Japanese and Korean localizations.
The team says v0.8.1d incorporates improvements to combat, visuals, items, enemies, the camera and tutorials, including some suggested by the community and beta testers. These are described as improvements to the full game; the announcement does not specify that every change is exclusive to, or fully represented in, the demo.
Known control issues
The changelog says players cannot step backward without a weapon, and that reconfigured controls reset to their defaults when the screen is revealed. Clicking “Quit to Title” does not work, so hold Enter to select it. : The official Steam announcement and changelog
