Bandai Namco published the official STORM CONNECTIONS 1.71 patch notes on September 30, 2026 for NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS. The free update fixes story rewards that remained unavailable despite players meeting their unlock requirements, alongside rank and Battle Points (BP) display errors.
Version 1.71 is listed for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. An Internet connection is required to apply it.
Nanashi and Hikari rewards become accessible
The item fix covers rewards linked to progress in the special story mode added with version 1.70. Players could meet the conditions for certain items and still find that the content was unavailable.
The affected items named in the notes are Nanashi Uchiha’s “Ninja Heroes” and “Warring States Period” costumes, together with Hikari Uchiha’s corresponding special conversations and voices. The correction therefore concerns both costumes and character dialogue content tied to those rewards.
For players missing these items, the relevant condition is whether their unlock requirements have already been met. Version 1.71 addresses the failure to make qualifying rewards available; meeting those requirements remains part of accessing the content. If that describes your save, apply the update and check the listed rewards.
Rank displays catch up with the higher BP cap
The ranked fixes concern separate displays and thresholds. On Ninja Info Cards, version 1.71 corrects the rank name shown when BP exceeds 80,000. This affects the rank information displayed on the card.
After a ranked match victory, another correction applies when BP exceeds 99,999. It fixes the display of the rank-up effect, rank icon and BP value on the post-victory screen. A player encountering this issue could therefore see several incorrect display elements after winning, rather than only an incorrect rank name on their info card.
The progression context comes from version 1.70, which raised the maximum BP from 99,999 to 999,999. The lower cap applied in version 1.60 and earlier versions. The thresholds attached to these display fixes should be read separately from that maximum: they describe when the errors occurred, while the expanded cap was introduced in the preceding update.

Bandai Namco says the rank name and icon corresponding to the increased BP cap will be added in future updates, without announcing a date. The publisher also lists corrections for additional minor bugs.
For players with qualifying story rewards still locked, installing version 1.71 is the practical next step. It also addresses the specified ranked display errors, while the rank name and icon associated with the higher cap remain scheduled for a later update.
