Xbox Insiders can preview Mythic Achievements from September 29, 2026, according to Xbox Wire Xbox Wire. To earn the status, players must complete all of a game’s original achievements; achievements added later through DLC or updates are not required. Xbox also outlined other October console announcements gaming news.
Progress tracks the original achievement list
A progress bar at the top of each game’s achievement list shows how close a player is to Mythic status and helps identify the original achievements still to complete. Later additions carry an “add-on” label, and similar progress information appears in Xbox Guide and achievement details.
Mythic Achievements appear in a player’s history with a hero frame. The new Gaming tab on Xbox profiles also brings together achievements, the next Gamerscore milestone badge, and previously completed games.
Previously completed games may qualify
Eligible games completed before the feature’s introduction may receive a Mythic Achievement in the player’s history, including Xbox 360 titles. Xbox has not published a complete list of eligible games. Once earned, the Mythic status is retained.
The feature is currently being previewed by Xbox Insiders. Xbox directs people who want to join the program to download the Xbox Insider Hub app on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or Windows PC. The announcement does not give a date for availability beyond the Insider program.
