Phonopolis
Phonopolis is a puzzle adventure developed and published by Amanita Design, the Czech studio behind Machinarium, Samorost, Creaks and CHUCHEL. It takes place in a hand-painted cardboard city where citizens follow commands broadcast through omnipresent loudspeakers.
Players control Felix, a young dustman who slowly understands the threat behind the Leader’s system. The game blends observation, object manipulation, environmental puzzles and a more explicit narrative style than several earlier Amanita games.
Phonopolis uses an art direction inspired by avant-garde movements, constructivism and stop-motion craft. Music by Tomáš Dvořák, also known as Floex, connects the game to Amanita’s long-standing audio identity.
