Modern Warfare 4’s beta unfolds across two weekends. The official beta trailer accompanies Call of Duty’s post published on August 20, 2026, which details the content planned for Weekend One.
When the two beta weekends take place
Weekend One Early Access runs from August 21 at 11 a.m. PT to August 25 at 10 a.m. PT. Weekend Two Open Beta follows from August 28 at 10 a.m. PT to September 1 at 10 a.m. PT. Call of Duty: NEXT is scheduled for August 21, 2026, at 9 a.m. PT.
Preloading is announced for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, Steam and Battle.net. One installation covers both phases, while progression and updates carry over into the second weekend. The level cap is set at 20 during the first weekend before rising to 30. PC players can find platform information in jeu.vidéo’s PC gaming section.
Early access requires a beta code or a Standard or Vault pre-order. A digital pre-order does not require a code. Digital pre-orders also grant campaign access starting October 16, 2026.
What Weekend One adds beyond public matches
The “Entrenched” campaign mission is the main addition in this phase. It offers a first look at the solo adventure ahead of the full launch, announced for October 23, 2026.
The Mobility Course provides guided tutorials and timed courses focused on movement and combat. The beta also includes 12 custom classes and 21 Operators, with each class assigned to an Operator.
Rewards unlocked during the beta are expected to remain available in the full game at launch. Weekend One will therefore give players a look at movement, initial class setups and the “Entrenched” mission, alongside the public matches. The scope remains limited to the content announced by Call of Duty, so it does not yet establish the full shape of the game.
