Counter-Strike 2’s September 22, 2026 update changes Premier’s map selection and describes Rush, a queued 3v3 mode. It also adds a slower silent reload and changes sniper zoom sounds, crosshair settings and customization options.Valve details the changes in its official notes.

Premier’s final map is chosen at random
Team 1 picks a map, Team 2 picks 2, then Team 1 picks one more. Before the match starts, one of those four maps is selected at random. The teams shape the pool, but neither can guarantee which map they will play.
Rush sends queued 3v3 teams through a series of combat arenas toward the opposing team’s castle. Arenas are selected randomly for each match. A team wins a round by controlling the tower when the opposing team is eliminated or time expires.
Silent reloads take longer
Players can reload silently by holding the reload key, but the reload is slower. The notes do not specify whether its timing varies by weapon or situation. Scoping out with a sniper weapon no longer makes a sound.
Crosshairs are now independent of resolution, and the Settings menu has a new “Crosshair/Scopes” tab with updated crosshair settings. The default is “Dynamic Quad,” which the update notes describe as a better representation of weapon accuracy.
Players can set music volume separately for each game mode and apply stickers to the C4. Steam Community group members can set a “Clan Tag” from their player profile. The update also adds five Workshop entities: minimap_volume, sky_camera_volume, sky_camera_volume_target, point_deathcam_bounds and env_shake_volume.
