Season of Scares is now available on all platforms. The announcement was published on September 23, 2026, and introduces tools for reorganizing and sharing the Valley, a permanent introductory Star Path and Halloween activities planned from October 7. Clear Biome can remove furniture, landscape elements, fences and paths from a biome or sub-biome. The action can still be cancelled before the changes are saved, allowing players to clear an area before committing to the new layout. Some character stalls and functional buildings can also be moved onto Floating Islands.
Decoration Presets can be shared through a code generated by hovering over a preset. Each code remains valid for 14 days, including if the creator changes or deletes the original preset during that period.
The new Event Board tracks up to three active events and lets visitors leave or read messages in the Valley. It becomes part of the Astronomer’s Journey after the player unlocks the first Realm and speaks with Merlin. For Apple Arcade players, the Event Board is announced for the next free update; no date is provided for that release.
Storage limits for photos and DreamSnaps
The Photo Mode Gallery can hold up to 12 images. The DreamSnaps Archive provides access to six months of DreamSnaps and allows up to three entries to be pinned as favorites. After six months, the oldest entries that are not pinned are removed.
The Gallery is cleared after 180 days of inactivity, while sharing QR codes expire after 7 days. These features therefore use different retention periods.
The Halloween events begin in October
The Haunted Floating Festival runs from October 7 to 31. It includes decorated areas, new or returning puzzles and seasonal decorations described as exclusive. The announcement gives the calendar dates but does not specify a year, start time, end time or time zone.
Trick or Treat follows from October 14 to 31. Candy can be collected in the Plaza or by visiting houses that display a jack-o’-lantern at the door. The announced rewards include new outdoor decorations inspired by Halloween Town.
Oogie Boogie is also part of an adventure centred on a mysterious mirror in Scrooge’s shop. In its strange version of the shop, players are promised games, challenges and rewards each week. The announcement does not provide a more detailed schedule for those weekly activities.
A permanent Star Path and Olaf’s final rooms
Astronomer’s Journey is presented as a permanent introductory Star Path available to all players. It begins after the player unlocks the first Realm and speaks with Merlin; the Event Board is introduced as part of that discovery.
Olaf’s Grand Exhibition concludes with two new rooms inspired by the Forgotten Lands and Valley Plaza. Completing the Exhibition unlocks two pieces of furniture and a Scholarly Fox companion.
The update is available across platforms, while its seasonal content follows the announced October calendar. The main platform-specific reservation concerns Apple Arcade, where the Event Board is scheduled for the next free update rather than the release described here.
