Keen Games says Enshrouded is scheduled to leave early access on October 15. The studio previews nine new spells, upgradeable Eternal spells and new wand and archer skills in its official combat preview published on September 23, outlining planned combat changes for version 1.0.
Eternal spells gain upgrades and perks
Keen Games says its previous combat update left improvements for mages until later. The announced additions now include nine spells for Embervale: Mana Drain, Entangle, Pillar of Flames, Blizzard, Ball Lightning, Summon Fire Totem, Summon Ice Totem, Summon Shock Totem and Summon Hollow Skeleton.
Alongside those additions, the studio lists 22 tier 7 spell variants, described as Eternal versions. Eternal spells do not consume spell ammunition when cast, and will be upgradeable like weapons and armor, with new perks.
For spellcasters, those upgrades add a way to develop the spells themselves. Eternal spells retain their ammunition-saving property while gaining a progression system comparable to equipment upgrades.
Wands gain piercing and aerial attacks
Heavy wand attacks will pierce enemies and interrupt attacks from weaker opponents. The interruption effect has a specific limit: the preview attributes it to weaker enemies, while piercing allows attacks to pass through targets.
Two new skills add other ways to attack with a wand. Aerial Wand Attack can be triggered in midair and has an area-of-effect impact. Wand Evasion Attack fires larger, piercing projectiles. The skills offer distinct options: an aerial area attack and an evasion attack whose projectiles can pass through enemies.
Archers will gain Puncture, Barrage and Survival Instinct, plus Eternal Fire arrow, Eternal Shock arrow and Eternal Bone arrow. The preview uses “x%” and “x sec” in the skill descriptions, so their percentages and durations remain unspecified. Those values matter when assessing the skills’ effectiveness and deciding where to allocate points.
Ranged aim assist will be enabled by default on controllers and disabled by default for keyboard and mouse. The default aiming setting will therefore depend on the input device used.

Reassign your points before leaving the base
For version 1.0, Keen Games announces a maximum player level of 50, with an equipment level cap of 55. The studio also announces new enemy variants for every faction, including the Fell and the Scavengers, with some described as heavy or elite opponents.
The new skills and changes to their placement will reset the skill tree. Existing players will need to reassign their points, and Keen Games recommends doing so before leaving the base.
For returning players, reallocating skill points is the practical first step before resuming exploration. The announced wand attacks and Eternal spell upgrades provide options to consider when rebuilding a character, while the archer skills’ effectiveness remains difficult to assess without their percentages and durations.
