Enshrouded 1.0 launches on October 15, 2026, and returning players face an immediate change: their skill tree will reset when they first load an existing save in version 1.0.0.0. The official Steam announcement, published on October 14, gives no release time.
The official changelog, released early alongside the launch trailer, also announces higher progression limits. Characters will be able to reach level 50, while equipment can be upgraded to level 55. For established characters, the update combines a reset of their skill setup with further room to progress.
Existing characters face a skill tree reset
The reset is tied to the first load of an existing save in version 1.0.0.0. Returning players will therefore encounter it as soon as they resume their characters. The announcement does not specify how skills will be reassigned after the reset.
Magic is expanding too, with nine new spell types and eternal variants for all spells in the later stages of progression. The exact unlock conditions for these variants have not been specified. The expanded spell selection accompanies the higher level cap, while the skill tree reset affects characters loaded from existing saves.
A more practical improvement concerns storage. Chests can be upgraded in place without being emptied and picked up first. Expanding storage will therefore no longer require temporarily moving the contents out of the chest being upgraded.
Cinder’s Cradle extends Embervale northward
Cinder’s Cradle, the new region north of Veilwater Basin, includes lava, ruins and floating islands. The update also adds new Hollow Halls in Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin, extending exploration beyond the new region itself.
Version 1.0.0.0 brings Embervale’s story to a conclusion, qualified by the team’s “for now.” Resolving the main threat will not clear away every danger: the Shroud and the Fell remain. The narrative endpoint therefore does not mean an Embervale free of those threats.

Sparkworks brings logic tools to player worlds
The new Sparkworks logic system lets players create interactions, traps, puzzles and enemy encounters in their worlds. Builders can use these tools to shape how those worlds behave, adding interactive elements and challenges.
Lore texts found in the world gain voiceovers in English, German and Mandarin. A playback queue allows players to keep exploring while listening, so hearing these texts need not interrupt movement through Embervale. French is not among the announced languages for these readings; this language list applies specifically to lore voiceovers.
The update also adds HDR support for compatible monitors and televisions. Players need a compatible display to use the feature; no specific image-quality or performance gains have been announced.
For returning players, the skill tree reset is the immediate consideration when reopening a save, with reassignment details still unspecified. The higher progression caps and new locations provide further goals, while Sparkworks adds ways to build interactions and challenges into player worlds.
