EA SPORTS FC™ 27 plans to reset archetype Attribute Point (AP) allocations in The Grounds by Thursday, October 22 at 2 a.m. Pacific Time. Players will need to redistribute their points after the update, but each archetype will retain its level and total AP.
In its October 19 announcement, the team says it identified incorrectly classified attributes that affected their AP costs. It intends to adjust those costs to strengthen archetype identity and bring progression closer to its design goals. Those are the stated aims; the announcement does not establish how the resulting builds will perform.
The announced timing is a rollout deadline, rather than a guaranteed start time or a deadline for players to reallocate points. The Steam announcement does not specify which platforms the rollout covers.
Which attributes will cost more or less?
The adjustments concern the AP needed to improve attributes. A higher cost means investing more of the same point budget in that attribute; a lower cost leaves more room for other upgrades. These are changes to upgrade costs, rather than announced direct increases or decreases to attribute values.
- Shot Stopper: Acceleration, Short Passing and GK Positioning will cost more; GK Reflexes will cost less.
- Boss: Strength, Heading Accuracy and Sliding Tackle will cost more. Its table lists no attributes receiving a cost reduction.
- Maestro: Strength, Interceptions, Short Passing, Defensive Awareness and Long Shots will cost more; Agility, Reactions, Ball Control and Long Passing will cost less.
- Finisher: Acceleration, Sprint Speed, Agility, Vision, Ball Control and Dribbling will cost more; Reactions, Composure, Finishing and Volleys will cost less.
For a Finisher build, that means Finishing becomes cheaper to invest in while Sprint Speed becomes more expensive. Keeping the same total AP therefore does not guarantee that a previous allocation will fit the revised budget. The balance depends on which attributes a player had chosen and how their costs change.
Maestro illustrates a different trade-off within the same archetype: Short Passing will cost more, while Long Passing will cost less. The direction of those changes is confirmed, but exact new costs have not been announced, so the AP needed to recreate a particular build cannot yet be calculated.
Attacking Positioning will also stop being a prerequisite for archetype specializations. Players will no longer need to meet that requirement to access specializations. The attribute itself is not being removed.

Compensation for players who already created a Pro
Players who have already created a Pro and need to reallocate their AP will receive 5,000 Club Coins and a 1.75× AXP multiplier valid for six matches. The multiplier is a match-limited bonus, not a permanent increase, and the compensation is tied to that existing-Pro condition.
Once the update arrives, the practical task is to redistribute AP using the revised attribute costs. Your archetype’s level and total point budget will carry over, while the allocation you choose will need to account for the new prices.
