Peak launches on PS5 on October 22, 2026, with crossplay available from launch. The climbing game supports solo play or co-op with up to three friends, and the PS5 release will include all previously released content updates.
Team Peak announced the date in an October 15 post on the PlayStation Blog. The announcement gives a calendar date but no launch time or time zone, so it does not establish exactly when players will be able to start climbing.
Crossplay is coming, but check your group's platforms
Crossplay is part of the PS5 launch announcement, allowing players to climb together across supported platforms. For friends planning to join from different systems, that is the feature to check before arranging a session: the post does not name the other platforms covered by crossplay.
The announced co-op limit is up to three friends alongside the player. Peak also supports solo play, so gathering a group is optional. These are separate ways to approach the climb; the arrival of crossplay does not make multiplayer a requirement.
Custom games allow players to adjust the difficulty. That gives a group a way to tailor the challenge when setting up a climb, although the announcement does not detail the available settings. It is a useful distinction between choosing who to play with and choosing how demanding the session should be.

The PS5 release includes the added biomes and items
The content commitment extends beyond the game as it originally launched. Team Peak says the PS5 version will include all content updates, biomes and new items received since the initial release. Players starting on Sony's console will therefore begin with those additions included.
That promise concerns content already released. It should not be read as a timetable for future updates or a guarantee about when subsequent additions might reach each platform.
Peak is jointly developed by Aggro Crab and Landfall, working together as Team Peak. Among the mechanics the team describes are injuries that limit stamina and make climbing harder. Their consequence is directly tied to the ascent: an injury reduces the endurance available for the activity at the centre of the game.
October 22 is the announced PS5 release date, with the existing content additions included from the start. If you intend to play with friends on other systems, confirm support for their platforms before committing to a shared session.
