REMATCH’s Netcode 2.0 beta is available to owners of the game on Steam, the team announced on October 14, 2026. The beta introduces a complete netcode overhaul through the REMATCH BETA TEST app. Participants are invited to try it and share detailed impressions of how it feels compared with the live servers.

Access the beta from your Steam library

In its October 14 announcement, the team directs owners of the game on Steam to REMATCH BETA TEST in their library. Launch that app to access the beta. The participation requirement is ownership of REMATCH on Steam, and the announcement points players to the test app for trying the new netcode.

If REMATCH BETA TEST does not appear in your library, enter steam://launch/3432970 in a browser, following the team’s instructions. This is the alternative access procedure provided for Steam owners whose library does not show the beta app.

Known issues affect performance, lobs and ball rollback

The team flags occasional performance hitches that some players may encounter during the beta. The overhaul comes with that reported limitation: its scope alone does not establish how smoothly it will run for an individual participant.

Lobs have a separate input issue. According to the team, input delay can sometimes cause the direction of a lob to register incorrectly. That is a specific limitation to bear in mind when assessing how the beta responds during play, alongside the reported performance hitches.

The reported ball rollback can occur in a particular sequence: a player controls the ball while recovering from a dive and is then tackled. The team identifies that combination of ball control, dive recovery and a subsequent tackle as a known issue. Its description does not extend the problem to tackles generally.

Send impressions and bugs to the relevant boards

The team asks participants to submit detailed impressions to the Feedback board, especially about how the beta feels compared with the live servers. The request focuses on the experience of playing with the overhaul; the announcement’s description of a complete netcode refactor is not, by itself, a measured result for responsiveness or performance.

For specific faults, the announcement directs players to the Bug Reports board. These destinations serve different purposes: impressions of the beta’s feel go to the feedback board, while reports of bugs go to the bug board. Both are part of the team’s request for contributions from participants.

Steam owners can use REMATCH BETA TEST to evaluate the overhaul and contribute their observations. The beta offers that opportunity while retaining acknowledged issues with performance, lob direction and ball rollback in the dive-recovery sequence.
