The 7 GB listed for Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam and 8 GB for Xbox Series X|S include the Tales of Eternia Remastered base game. They are not standalone patch sizes. Version 2.0.0 also adds Titles carryover for repeat playthroughs, a Japanese font setting and text fixes.
Bandai Namco’s announcement, dated October 15, 2026, listed the Steam update as available and scheduled the console versions for October 15 at 9 p.m. PDT. That console schedule covers Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X|S; it does not confirm that deployment has since finished on each platform.
Titles carry over from the second playthrough
Version 2.0.0 adds “Titles” to the items transferable on the second and subsequent playthroughs, according to Bandai Namco’s notes. The practical change concerns players returning to the adventure: Titles become part of what they can take into a later run. This is an addition to the carryover list, with its scope tied to repeat playthroughs.
The new “Font Style” option lets players change the font used for in-game text when the language is set to Japanese. It is accessible at any time through Menu > Custom > Font Style, using the menu labels supplied by the publisher. Some text cannot be changed with this setting, so the customization does not extend to every text element.
The patch also fixes bugs in certain text. Bandai Namco does not identify the affected passages or languages, so those fixes cannot be attributed to a particular translation.
Storage requirements depend on what the figure includes
The publisher’s approximate figures cover different things depending on the platform. Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 have update-file sizes listed. For Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, the stated storage requirement includes the main game.

When planning an installation, use the entry for your platform and check what it covers. Comparing the Switch’s 300 MB directly with the Switch 2’s 7 GB would compare a patch file with a figure that includes the game itself. The larger totals therefore cannot tell you how much data the update alone will download.
Bandai Namco recommends applying the latest update before playing, and an Internet connection is required to install it. That connection requirement concerns the update process; it does not establish a requirement to stay online while playing.
