Aia and Jun join the announced voice cast
Tomohiro Ono voices Aia Udagawa, the main character in Bless. Chiyuki Miura voices Jun Sumizaki. The announcement links these two confirmations to individual character trailers, without providing their direct links or identifiers.
A teaser visual drawn by Honoka Yokoyama also accompanied the presentation. The character designer is also responsible for the anime’s character designs.
Yukino Sonoyama’s manga is the source of the adaptation
Bless adapts the manga by Yukino Sonoyama. The series was first published in Shonen Magazine Edge, from the February 2022 issue through the November 2023 issue, before moving to Monthly Shonen Sirius starting with the February 2024 issue.
According to the Kodansha USA description reproduced in the announcement, Aia Udagawa was discovered as a model but wants to become a makeup artist. He convinces Jun, his classmate who feels self-conscious about her freckled face, to enter a school fashion contest with him by handling her makeup. Their project brings together Aia’s professional ambitions and Jun’s desire to regain confidence in her appearance.
A-1 Pictures handles production
Shotaro Kitamura directs the anime at A-1 Pictures. Fukuro Kamiza handles series composition, Honoka Yokoyama the character designs, and Ryo Yoshimata the music.
Bless now has a premiere window, an identified core team and two announced voice cast members. The announcement does not yet specify the launch day or time in January 2027.
