I Lost My Adventurer's License, but It's Fine Because I Have an Adorable Daughter Now will premiere in January 2027 in Japan. The adaptation of Manimani Ononata’s story has also received a teaser and a visual, alongside casting and production credits.
Crunchyroll reports the announcement from the anime’s official website in its October 15, 2026 post. The release window concerns the Japanese premiere, with no specific day announced. For viewers following the adaptation outside Japan, that distinction matters: a Japanese broadcast window does not itself establish an international streaming date.

Douglas and Rabi lead the fantasy story
The premise follows Douglas, a former spellcaster who has lost his adventurer’s license, and Rabi, a cursed young girl he encounters. That starting point comes from the Square Enix manga synopsis reproduced by Crunchyroll. It introduces a protagonist whose adventuring career has been disrupted and a child facing a predicament of her own.
Hiroki Yasumoto will voice Douglas, while Yuka Iguchi will voice Rabi. Douglas’s lost license and Rabi’s curse are separate elements of the synopsis; it does not establish a causal link between them. Their meeting supplies the starting point, without explaining how either character’s circumstances relate to the other’s.
The fantasy elements are already present in that setup: Douglas has a background in spellcasting, and Rabi is affected by a curse. The synopsis introduces those circumstances without detailing how the story will develop after their encounter.
Palette brings the story to animation
Yuki Inaba is directing the anime at Palette and is also responsible for series composition and the screenplay. Those credits place both the direction and the organization of the story in his hands, linking the adaptation’s narrative structure with its presentation on screen.
Kaori Yoshikawa handles character design and serves as chief animation director. Her responsibilities span the characters’ designs for animation and oversight of their visual consistency as those designs are animated.
The original work is written by Manimani Ononata. Its print edition is published by GA Novel, with illustrations by Fuzichoco. Readers familiar with that edition should distinguish those illustration credits from Yoshikawa’s character-design work on the anime.
For readers following the series on JEU.VIDEO, January 2027 is the Japanese premiere window to mark. The announcement pairs that timing with the voices and creative team responsible for bringing Douglas and Rabi to the screen.
