Icarus Week 254 adds fish-based material recipes, new meals and sleep Comfort bonuses influenced by displayed catches. Published on October 15, 2026, the official announcement also details an optional Great Hunt spawn setting available after defeating the boss.

Turn fish into crafting ingredients

Changelog v3.0.32.158743-rel-DangerousHorizons introduces Fish Paste, an intermediate ingredient made at the Mortar and Pestle using any fish. Alternative recipes use it to produce Oil, Resin, Concrete, Limestone and Vitamins, giving catches a role in supplying crafting materials as well as food.

For players deciding how to use their catch, Fish Paste offers another option alongside cooking and display. These are alternative recipes: the announcement gives no basis for treating them as cheaper or more productive than existing methods.

The food additions include Fish Chowder, Freshwater Tartare, Fish & Chips, Fish Roll, Fish Fillet Sandwich, Fish Platter and Fish Feast. Fish Paste Lure also joins the new items, extending the additions beyond meals and crafting materials.

The fishing interface also receives a visual and usability overhaul. The developer describes the change as bringing it into line with the standard Icarus interface.

Your displayed catch affects sleep Comfort

Fish displayed in aquariums and on fish mounts now influence the sleep Comfort bonus according to their quality and rarity. Choosing a specimen for display therefore affects more than the appearance of a base.

Those characteristics matter when deciding which fish to keep for display, while any fish can be processed into Fish Paste. The announcement does not specify whether bonuses from multiple displays stack without limit.

Control Great Hunt spawns after victory

After the Great Hunt boss has been defeated, the host or an administrator can use World Settings to prevent the relevant creatures and dens from spawning. The announcement names Quarrite, Rimetusk and Garganutan on their respective maps.

The setting is optional and applies after completing the campaign. Players who want to prevent those spawns need the host or an administrator to change World Settings once the boss requirement has been met.

Fire cleanup and a changed Sandbox requirement

For dedicated servers, Week 254 improves the replication of fire particle cleanup to address particles persisting on clients. This targets lingering visual effects; the announcement reports the fix, without independent confirmation of its effectiveness here.

The Sandbox mission now requires a Fabricator instead of a Machining Bench. Players preparing for that objective should account for the revised equipment requirement.

Week 254 gives fish additional crafting uses and makes the quality and rarity of displayed catches relevant to sleep Comfort. The Rifle Turret is previewed for the following week, separately from this update's content.
