Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is coming to GeForce NOW at launch, NVIDIA has announced. The cloud service will handle downloads and installations, while Ultimate members are promised ray tracing in the campaign.

The announcement is dated October 22, 2026. It establishes NVIDIA’s plans to support the game at launch, rather than confirming that it is already available in every regional catalog. Availability in the French catalog remains unconfirmed.

Campaign ray tracing tied to Ultimate

In its October 22 blog post, NVIDIA announces campaign ray tracing with GeForce RTX 5080-class performance for GeForce NOW Ultimate members. For players interested in that graphics feature, Ultimate is the membership named in the announcement. That condition applies specifically to the campaign with ray tracing; it should not be read as an access requirement for the whole game.

The hardware reference describes the performance class NVIDIA is promoting. It does not establish a measured frame rate, streaming resolution or latency for Modern Warfare 4. Those distinctions matter when choosing a membership for a particular visual experience: the announced graphics option is clear, but the hardware label alone cannot tell players exactly how a session will perform.

NVIDIA also lists multiplayer and the DMZ extraction mode alongside the campaign. Its ray tracing announcement concerns the campaign, without establishing whether the feature is available or absent in either of those other modes.

Game files managed in the cloud

GeForce NOW will take care of the game’s downloads and installations in the cloud. This is separate from the Ultimate membership condition for campaign ray tracing: one concerns how the game’s files are managed, while the other concerns access to a graphics feature. The service handles downloads and installations for the streamed game. NVIDIA does not attach a specific storage saving or faster launch time to this announcement, so neither should be treated as a quantified benefit.

For the campaign experience with ray tracing, NVIDIA names PCs, Macs, handhelds, mobile devices, browsers and compatible TVs. That gives the announcement a scope beyond a single device category, but it is not a guarantee that every model supports the service. Players planning to use a particular device should check its GeForce NOW compatibility before relying on it for the game.

The announcement puts cloud support alongside Modern Warfare 4’s launch, with file management handled by GeForce NOW. For players weighing Ultimate specifically for campaign ray tracing, the feature is announced; a precise performance target is not.
