Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026, with Kill Block bringing a changing battlefield to Gunfight. The map supports three-on-three and ten-on-ten matches, and its configurations change between matches and between rounds.
That timing makes adaptation part of the map’s appeal: a layout encountered in one round need not carry over into the next. The changes happen at those intervals, rather than continuously during firefights.

Three sections, more than 500 configurations
In its October 23 overview, Xbox Wire describes Kill Block as a combination of two outer sections, called End Slabs, and a Central Slab. Their assembly allows for more than 500 configurations at launch, according to the announcement. That figure describes possible arrangements of the modular sections, rather than hundreds of entirely separate maps.
Some Slabs draw on Crash, Storage Town and Shoot House. Xbox Wire attributes those details to the Call of Duty Blog. These familiar locations contribute sections to Kill Block; their inclusion does not mean that the complete maps have been recreated inside it.
The distinction matters for anyone drawn to those names. Familiar surroundings can offer something to recognise, while their place within the wider battlefield depends on the configuration. Knowing an individual section and knowing how the assembled map connects are different challenges. Kill Block’s announced variety rests on that relationship between recognisable pieces and changing arrangements.

Gunfight gets two team sizes at launch
Kill Block’s launch offering includes three-on-three and ten-on-ten Gunfight. The modular concept therefore spans two substantially different team sizes from release. Players interested in either format will encounter the same central idea: the battlefield’s configuration can change as play moves from one match or round to another.
Weather adds a separate variable. Xbox Wire says simulated rain or snow can affect visibility, though it does not quantify how frequently those conditions appear or how strongly they obscure the view. Alongside changes to the arrangement of sections, that gives players another reason to reassess what they can see when a round begins.
Support for other core multiplayer modes is planned for later, without an announced schedule or list of modes. For launch, the concrete offering is Kill Block’s modular battlefield in the two confirmed Gunfight formats. Its distinguishing promise is repeated adaptation within one map concept; the announced configuration count describes the breadth of combinations, without establishing how differently each will play.
