VALORANT patch 13.08 introduces Map Rating, a private performance tracker for each map in Competitive and Premier. Matches played before the feature’s launch do not count toward it. Published on October 13, 2026, Riot’s notes also announce the start of V26 Act 6 and changes to the map rotation.
For Competitive and Deathmatch players, Bind and Corrode enter the queues while Ascent and Split leave. Corrode also receives changes to defender routes, Mid and the A site plant zone, giving returning players several positions to revisit.
Map Rating starts with your new matches
Each map receives a score from 0 to 500 and a letter grade from C to S. The calculation draws on overall win rate, attack win rate, defense win rate and Performance Score. Recent matches carry more weight than older ones, so the rating places greater emphasis on your more recent results.
This combines match outcomes with individual performance rather than treating overall win rate as the only measure. Comparing attack and defense win rates can reveal a difference between your results on each side that the overall win rate alone does not show. Riot does not provide the exact formula or numerical weights, so the announced inputs alone cannot explain precisely how a particular result will affect your rating.
You can consult Map Rating in agent select, at the end of a match and in Career. Other players cannot view your Map Rating information. It therefore serves as a personal reference for your performance across maps, without exposing those ratings to teammates or opponents.
The fresh start applies specifically to Map Rating: it excludes matches played before the feature launched. That does not amount to a general account reset, and your previous matches will not populate this new tracker.

Corrode’s routes and plant zone change
The rotation bringing in Bind and Corrode applies to Competitive and Deathmatch. Ascent and Split leaving these queues does not mean they disappear from every mode. This rotation is separate from Map Rating’s availability in Competitive and Premier; the announcement does not establish the same rotation for Premier.
On Corrode, the defenders’ paths to the back of sites A and B have been reworked. Riot’s stated aim is to shorten rotations and make retakes easier. These route changes are relevant when moving between sites or approaching an occupied site, although Riot gives no measured time saving.
At Mid, the low wall becomes metal and moves by one meter. The crates at the back of Lower Mid move toward B, a jump-up route is added and the Lower Mid wall is raised. Players familiar with the previous layout will need to account for the relocated cover and altered access around these positions.
The A site plant zone is also adjusted, with the aim of making post-plant play from A Link less effective. For players who rely on that position after planting the Spike, the relevant change is the plant zone itself. Whether it achieves Riot’s intended effect will depend on how matches play out.
Performance Score changes predate this patch
Because Performance Score contributes to Map Rating, the timing of its adjustments matters. Riot explains that the changes described in the notes were already active during patch 13.06. They increased the weight of damage, adjusted kills and adjusted deaths, alongside adjustments specific to Chamber. They are not newly introduced Performance Score changes in 13.08.
The patch also adds a new queue and mode selection interface for matchmade and custom games. Among the announced fixes, Riot lists a correction for Warden’s scope reticle shifting during automatic fire.
At the time of the notes, a visual issue affects the Team MVP display in match history, and Riot is working on a fix. Separately, Riot says it disabled Range in Queue after a queue-state problem affected some players and is testing a correction. No reactivation date is given.
Map Rating will build from your new matches, making it a fresh record of performance on each map rather than a retrospective score. For players entering Competitive, the immediate preparation is also practical: account for the changed rotation and revisit Corrode’s altered routes, cover and A plant zone.
