War Thunder has announced 10 Halloween-themed October decals, with tasks running from October 12 at 11 a.m. GMT to November 12 at 9 a.m. GMT, according to the list published on Steam. Every objective requires rank III vehicles or higher. The announced schedule does not specify a year, so check the in-game menu for current availability before pursuing a reward.
The notable change is 3. SFltl Emblem Tiefseefisch. During the first event, it was available only for Golden Eagles; this time, it has a regular unlock task. Players with eligible German coastal vessels can obtain it by dealing 20,000 damage, giving them a gameplay route to an emblem previously tied to that currency.
The 10 decals and their unlock requirements
The collection covers aircraft, ground vehicles and coastal vessels across different national categories. The shared rank requirement is only the starting point: each task also specifies what to use and what result counts toward its reward.
- Personal Marking of Kazimir Rudzit: defeat 50 players with Soviet aircraft.
- SPA 91 Emblem: earn 15,000 points with French aircraft.
- Rice’s Red Devils Hull Art: finish in first to third place 3 times with American ground vehicles.
- Black Cat Squadron Emblem (Type 1): play 20 battles with Chinese aircraft, with at least 60% battle activity.
- 337th Squadron Ghost Tail Art: defeat 20 players with missiles while flying Greek or Israeli aircraft.
- Grinning Skull Emblem: win 10 battles with British tanks.
- Yellow Skull Emblem: finish in first to fifth place five times with Swedish ground vehicles.
- 1st Anti-Aircraft Company, 7th Anti-Aircraft Regiment Emblem: destroy 20 aircraft with Japanese ground vehicles.
- 3. SFltl Emblem Tiefseefisch: deal 20,000 damage with German coastal vessels.
- 41° Gruppo Autonomo AS Emblem: destroy 30 ground or water targets with Italian aircraft.
The distinction between cumulative totals and individual battle results matters when choosing a task. SPA 91 tracks points, while Tiefseefisch tracks damage. Rice’s Red Devils and Yellow Skull instead require repeated finishes within specific scoreboard positions, so simply completing more battles does not satisfy those objectives. Grinning Skull counts victories with British tanks, rather than a personal score or placement.
Black Cat pairs its battle count with an activity threshold: each qualifying battle must reach at least 60% activity. The combat objectives have their own conditions, too. Ghost Tail Art requires missile defeats against players. For the Japanese emblem, aircraft are the targets and ground vehicles are the attackers; the Italian emblem reverses that relationship, requiring aircraft to destroy ground or water targets.
Check and track objectives from the hangar
Open Player Profile > Decals > Monthly Decals to consult the exact requirements and your progress. The Track progress button lets you follow each task from the hangar, making it easier to keep a combined requirement such as Black Cat’s battle count and activity threshold in view.
Your available vehicles provide a practical starting point for choosing a reward. Rank III French aircraft match SPA 91’s vehicle requirement, whereas Tiefseefisch calls for German coastal vessels at the required rank. These are separate objectives with different measures of progress; a qualifying rank alone does not make a vehicle suitable for every task.
The decals appear in the Monthly Decals tab of the customization menu before moving to their respective categories after a month. That move changes where the decals are filed; it should not be treated as an extension of the announced task window.
Tiefseefisch’s return gives eligible coastal players a concrete alternative to its previous Golden Eagles requirement. For anyone choosing among the collection, the useful comparison is between the vehicles they can field and the results each emblem demands, with the in-game tracker showing progress toward that choice.
