Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 begins on November 6, 2026 at 05:00 UTC, bringing Modern Warfare 4 into the free-to-play game. It also ends Warzone support on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and introduces the game on Nintendo Switch 2.

Players moving from either older console can retain their progress on a supported platform by signing in with the same linked Activision account. Player level will still reset when the season begins.

Hajin and Zodiac lead the new maps

Hajin takes Battle Royale to the Korean Peninsula, while Zodiac is a Resurgence map set in South Korea. The official season preview introduces both as part of the Modern Warfare 4 integration.

Battle Royale and Resurgence are scheduled for launch alongside their Casual variants, Rally Point, Massive Resurgence and Loaded Resurgence. Extreme Resurgence and Rockets and Snipers are planned for the mid-season update.

Keeping progress after PS4 and Xbox One support ends

Warzone will no longer be playable on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One from the start of Season 1. Players who want to continue will need to use a supported platform and sign in with the same linked Activision account to retain their progress.

The launch also brings a player-level reset, followed by shared progression and optional Prestige across multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone. Retaining account-linked progress when changing platforms is separate from that level reset.

Legacy weapons stay, but Gunsmith editing ends

Warzone will receive the 33 Modern Warfare 4 launch weapons and the additional Season 1 weapons. Weapons from Modern Warfare II through Black Ops 7 will remain usable through the Legacy tab of loadouts, although players will no longer be able to modify them in Gunsmith.

A version of each base Legacy weapon with five attachments is planned, as are Legacy blueprints with their existing configurations. The blueprints will initially be locked and can be unlocked with player XP in the Armory. Players keeping older weapons will therefore have access to them with more limited customization.

Season 1 also changes movement and revives. Every operator will be able to use Tactical Sprint without a perk, although its duration will be slightly reduced. Players will be able to move allies while reviving them, including when trying to get them into cover.

For players leaving PS4 or Xbox One, the linked Activision account provides a way to keep progress on a supported platform. The season-wide level reset will apply separately when the update launches.
