Xbox is preparing to bring its app to select TCL Smart TVs. Xbox Cloud Gaming will let players stream compatible games directly from the television, but the feature will not be available on September 4, 2026.

Games, saves and friends will follow the Xbox account
In its September 4, 2026, post, Xbox Wire announced the partnership with TCL announced the future arrival of the Xbox app on a selection of compatible TCL TVs. The post confirms that games playable through streaming will be available from the Smart TV, but it does not present the feature as immediately accessible.
Xbox is also promising continuity between devices. Games, friends, achievements and saves should follow the same account between a compatible TCL Smart TV, an Xbox console and a PC. That continuity will depend on the TV model and the account’s eligibility for cloud gaming.
What access will require
Players will need 4 things: a supported TCL Smart TV, the Xbox app, a compatible controller and cloud gaming time. That time must be included with an eligible Xbox Game Pass subscription or purchased separately. Subscribers concerned should also receive instant access to a library of games that can be played in the cloud.
The financial and practical conditions remain unclear. Xbox has not specified which Game Pass plan will apply, how much separately purchased cloud gaming time will cost or which controllers will be supported. Those details will determine the actual expense and how easily TCL owners can use the service.
TCL models and launch details are still unknown
The launch is planned for the “coming months,” but no specific date has been announced. The wording “certain TCL Smart TVs” also leaves the compatible models unidentified.
Xbox has yet to confirm the countries concerned, technical requirements, required operating system or list of available games. Resolution, frame rate and latency have not been detailed either, so streaming quality cannot be assessed yet.
This announcement adds another way to access Xbox Cloud Gaming, with progression expected to carry across TV, console and PC. Whether it will be a practical alternative to using a console will depend on the compatible TCL models, the selected Game Pass plan and the final cloud gaming conditions.
