Moon Sweepers now shares upgrades among all crew members in multiplayer, according to the developers’ October 24, 2026 message on Steam. The team says the change is already deployed, alongside host moderation tools, fixes for world loading, improved save protection and Windows optimizations.

Shared upgrades and more control for hosts

Upgrades now benefit the whole multiplayer crew. For groups playing together, this changes how those improvements apply: their benefits are shared among every member. The change does not settle the wider question of progression balance, which the developers list among their continuing areas of work.

Hosts have also gained controls to kick and ban players. These give the person hosting a multiplayer game more control over who can remain in the session. Shared upgrades and host moderation address different aspects of multiplayer: how the crew benefits from improvements and how the host manages participants.

The developers also report fixes for worlds that would not load, along with better protection for saves. These changes address problems affecting access to worlds and saved progress, though the announcement does not promise a complete resolution of loading or save issues.

Automation fixes and improvements cover conveyors, splitters, mergers and production systems. The work therefore spans several components involved in moving materials and keeping production running. Automation reliability remains an ongoing concern, however, with the team also identifying an issue affecting J.O.O.N.A.S units.

J.O.O.N.A.S units stopping at a distance remain a priority

In the announcement, the developers acknowledge that J.O.O.N.A.S units can stop when players move away. For players relying on those units to continue working while they are elsewhere, that is a practical limit on automation. The released changes to conveyors and production systems do not establish that the J.O.O.N.A.S stopping issue has been fixed.

On Windows, the released optimizations aim to improve FPS and reduce resource usage. The developers provide no measured performance gains, so there is no basis for predicting the improvement on a particular setup. Performance remains among their priorities for further work.

In its October 24 message, the team, which describes itself as consisting of two people, said it was aiming for another update in the coming days. J.O.O.N.A.S issues and performance were among its main priorities. That timing was a target, rather than a firm release date; the team also listed continuing work on crashes, production, automation reliability, progression balance and quality-of-life improvements.

The announced update changes how multiplayer crews receive upgrades and gives hosts tools to manage their sessions. For players whose production depends on J.O.O.N.A.S units operating at a distance, the stopping issue remains a separate concern that the developers have committed to addressing.
