Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is available worldwide, according to the October 23, 2026 announcement in the Call of Duty launch post. The launch includes a campaign, 20 multiplayer maps and DMZ, with an extra account-linking step for players who connected Discord during the beta.
Those players must link their Activision and Discord accounts again to use the Discord features at launch. Separately, the seasonal benefits covered by the Vault Edition’s BlackCell note become accessible when the Season 1 Battle Pass is available in-game.
The 20 launch maps span several multiplayer formats
The multiplayer lineup comprises 12 new 6v6 maps, 4 Gunfight maps, three Ground War maps and Kill Block. The headline total therefore covers several formats: players looking specifically for new 6v6 maps should look to the 12 announced for that format, rather than read the full count as a 6v6 lineup.
The campaign follows Price on the run as conflict erupts on the Korean Peninsula. Alongside the campaign and multiplayer, DMZ brings extraction gameplay to Hajin. These are the settings announced for the campaign and extraction mode at launch.
How to link Discord again after the beta
Account linking gives players access to their Discord friends and lets them send invitations from within the game. Call of Duty also announces a bonus calling card for linked accounts. For anyone who completed the link during the beta, that earlier setup must be renewed to use the Discord features.
Follow the procedure in the launch announcement:
- Sign in to the Activision account you use to play.
- Open “Account Linking”.
- Select Discord and authorize the link.
- Restart the game.
Use the Activision account associated with your play: that is the account the instructions ask you to connect. Authorization and the game restart are both part of the procedure, so continue through the final step after selecting Discord.
Vault Edition seasonal benefits have a separate availability condition
The Vault Edition’s BlackCell note covers the relevant BlackCell, Battle Pass, Call of Duty Points and Tier Skips content. Those benefits become accessible when the Season 1 Battle Pass is available in-game, and their use is limited to one season.
The worldwide game launch does not itself establish availability for those seasonal benefits. The announcement gives no date for the Season 1 Battle Pass, so Vault Edition owners should distinguish access to the game from access to the content covered by that note.
For players returning from the beta with an existing Discord link, the immediate action is to link the accounts again and restart MW4. For the relevant Vault Edition seasonal benefits, availability instead depends on the Season 1 Battle Pass arriving in-game.
