War Thunder’s “Haunting Grounds!” screenshot competition offers six prizes of 300 GE each, with submissions due October 30. The Halloween theme allows several approaches, but every entry needs an original image and the exact Steam title #WTscreen247.
A nighttime screenshot can meet the theme on its own, so capturing the Halloween event is optional. Entrants can also use War Thunder’s built-in filters and replay tools, provided they keep external editing out of the process.
How to submit an eligible screenshot
In its October 24 announcement, the team sets out the competition’s requirements. Publish your screenshot in the War Thunder Steam Community hub with only #WTscreen247 in the title. Adding a vehicle name, caption or any other text to the title would break that requirement.
Your screenshot must meet at least one of the following conditions: feature black and orange, be taken at night or come from the Halloween event. These are alternatives. A nighttime scene does not also need both colours, and a black-and-orange composition does not have to come from the event.
The image must be your own work and new: it cannot have been published before or used in another competition. A screenshot you have already published therefore fails this requirement, even if its subject fits perfectly. Entries must also comply with War Thunder’s rules.
Keep image adjustments inside War Thunder
The competition accepts raw game screenshots while expressly allowing in-game filters, settings and replays. That gives entrants room to prepare their shot using the game’s own features without requiring an untouched default view.
External editing software and visual enhancements are prohibited. The announcement specifically names Nvidia Ansel filters among the banned tools. The distinction is between the permitted tools inside War Thunder and processing applied externally: using a filter is not automatically disqualifying, but its source matters.

Community votes and judges share the prizes
Three winners will be selected through community votes and three by the judges, with each receiving 300 GE. Submitting an eligible screenshot does not guarantee a prize. The popular-vote route has an additional restriction: an author can win that way only once in every four screenshot competitions. That restriction concerns popular-vote wins specifically.
Rewards are due to be credited to the creator’s account within 14 business days, although the announcement does not specify when that period starts. The October 30 submission deadline also comes without a closing time or time zone.
Choose whichever of the alternative themes suits your image; there is no requirement to combine them. Before submitting, check the details that determine eligibility: an unpublished screenshot you took yourself, permitted in-game processing and a title containing only the required hashtag.
