We Were Here Tomorrow patch 1.1.2 is available on Steam, the team announced on October 23, 2026. The update addresses checkpoint black screens, blocked passages and disappearing puzzle items, alongside voice chat and startup changes.

Checkpoint loading, inventory and voice chat fixes

The official patch notes list fixes for 2 loading problems. One could leave players facing a black screen when loading a checkpoint. The other caused parts of the world to load incorrectly, an issue for which reinstalling the game had previously been a workaround.

Inventory items could also become permanently stuck during an emote or interaction. The team says this behavior has been fixed, though it does not specify whether the update restores items already affected.

For voice chat, the patch addresses failures to work or reconnect following a Vivox server outage. The fix concerns recovery after an interruption; it does not guarantee Vivox server availability.

Doors and puzzle items that could halt progression

Several fixes target specific passages. Under high latency, the double doors in Chapter 1 and the 2-bar door in Chapters 2 and 4 could refuse to open. The update addresses those failures, which could leave players unable to advance despite reaching the doors.

In Chapter 2, fuses could disappear from Daphne's laboratory after a failed puzzle attempt. The announced fix addresses that loss of puzzle items. Chapter 4 also gains respawn points in both elevators leading to the server room puzzle.

The Chapter 5 correction concerns the character with the grappling hook. By moving quickly through ducts, that character could reach areas reserved for the character with the goo block and cause a progression blocker. In Chapter 7, the patch addresses players becoming trapped in the doorway of a test room they had already visited.

Faster shader compilation and a DX11 launch option

The team reports faster, less resource-intensive initial shader compilation and says this patch requires no additional shader warmup phase. The improvement concerns that startup process; the announcement gives no measured compilation times or performance gains.

DX11 is now available as a launch option intended to broaden compatibility. No specific hardware is named, so the addition does not establish that switching to it will improve performance on every setup.

For players stopped by one of the listed checkpoint or chapter issues, the team reports fixes for those particular blockers. Whether the inventory fix also restores previously stuck items remains unspecified.
