Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 7.2 is available as version 1.9.24.0. It restores the drag calculations used before Sim Update 7 to preserve compatibility with some third-party add-on aircraft.
The MSFS 2024 Sim Update 7.2 patch notes published on Steam on November 5, 2026 also detail fixes for helicopters, certain engine starts and the in-flight Camera menu.

Drag calculations return to their earlier state
The change to drag calculations is intended to preserve compatibility with some third-party aircraft. The notes do not name the affected aircraft, so owners of add-ons cannot tell from the announcement alone whether a particular model is covered.
The update also addresses a helicopter issue tied to the Turbulence assistance setting. With that setting on Realistic, helicopters could experience excessive engine RPM and unexpected lift. The fix targets those symptoms under that setting.
Another correction concerns aircraft engines that use bleed-air starters. In very low air temperatures, these engines could sometimes fail to start. The notes identify the B737 and F18 among the aircraft affected by the problem.
Camera and PS5 fixes
In the in-flight Camera menu, the update fixes incorrect reading and adjustment of certain values. The notes do not detail the individual values involved.
On PS5, the update fixes loading of BMP files used by XML gauges. It also corrects the return value of the WASM network function fsNetworkHttpRequestGetState, which could leave its upper bits uncleared. The latter is a technical fix relevant to developers working with that function.
Check Community packages on PC
Outdated packages in the Community folder can affect the simulator’s performance or behavior on PC. If the game is unstable or takes a long time to load, the notes recommend moving those packages to another folder before restarting the game.
That step can help isolate whether Community content is involved, though it is a diagnostic measure rather than a guaranteed fix.
For creators, the update fixes an SDK crash involving custom SimConnect events with numeric identifiers used with F:KeyEvent. It also corrects camera angles that were sometimes wrong during exterior profiling in SimObject Profiler.
The restored drag calculations are intended to preserve compatibility with some third-party aircraft, but the notes do not identify the affected models. The remaining fixes address specific flight, interface and development issues.
