On PC, the default frame-rate limit has been increased to 120 FPS. The official note also mentions reduced load from certain rendering processes, foliage, effect playback and terrain in the World Tree area and other locations. Stuttering caused by activating certain passive skills has also been reduced, although the note provides no figures for these improvements.
Palworld v1.0.4 update: two new side missions to complete in order
Version 1.0.4 adds “Beyond Dimensions” and “From the Far Side of the Moon”. The first can be accepted from an NPC at Fisherman’s Point in Mount Obsidian. The second can progress after completing “Beyond Dimensions,” establishing a progression order between the two missions.
Summoned Pals and base Pals now prioritize skills that are intended to deal more damage. The note does not provide a figure measuring the difference from the previous version.
Palworld v1.0.4 update: several fishing adjustments
The difficulty of fishing spots has been adjusted at Sunreach and in the World Tree area. The quantity of items obtained after a successful catch also changes depending on the type of bait used. However, the note provides no before-and-after details indicating which values have been modified.
A new world setting, “Fish Behavior During Fishing Minigames”, has been added.
Items, Pal Critics and building
The Echoing Flute can now be dropped from the inventory. Pal Critics’ requests have also changed: in Sakurajima, the required Pal changes from Selyne to Dogen; in Sunreach, it changes from Bastigor to Faleris Aqua.
Server administrators can now set a limit on the number of buildings per player in the world. When building restrictions are enabled in the server settings, new restricted areas are added around the Field Boss Suzaku in the desert, the desert’s main mission cave and certain mission locations in Sakurajima.
The update also prevents players, summoned Pals and base Pals from catching fire when touching campfires built by players. When a job is canceled at a production facility, the returned materials now go back into the inventory.
Interface and targeted fixes
The Palpedia now includes a name search. Version mismatch errors now display the version of the connection target. On PS5, chat can be opened from the radial menu.
The patch fixes a crash that could occur during the animation following the disappearance of a fishing spot, as well as a server crash during Pal sorting. In co-op, joining players can now correctly join the host’s guild. On dedicated servers, the crafting display should no longer remain on screen in the case described by the note.
In the arena, the patch fixes an issue that prevented players from targeting the opposing Pal. Finally, on Steam, it fixes a problem that prevented mod files from being removed correctly.
The official note confirms the release of v1.0.4 and details these changes, but provides neither a complete platform rollout matrix nor independent performance figures. Affected players can consult the full update details in theofficial Palworld patch notes.
