The TV anime adapts Keiko Shibata’s children’s picture books, published in Japan by Kadokawa. The series currently comprises seven books, with more than six million copies in circulation.
Shin-Ei Animation is producing the series. Takahiko Kyogoku directs, assisted by Chie Yamashiro, with Mako Miyako handling character design and Mariko Mochizuki series composition.
