Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has announced Chaos on Avarax, a community event offering 100 Accolades for surviving a total of 15 waves in Chaos Siege Mode. Players are asked to complete the objective before November 3.
The official announcement dated October 20, 2026 says the event starts immediately. It gives Chaos Siege players a temporary survival target, with the reward tied to waves survived. Simply entering the mode is not the stated objective: the challenge is to hold out through the required total.
15 waves, with a question over how progress counts
Chaos Siege Mode is the mode named for the challenge. For players pursuing the reward, that makes the choice of activity straightforward. The more consequential uncertainty is how to divide the effort: the wording “a total of 15 waves” does not explain whether those waves must be survived in a single session or can be accumulated across matches.
That distinction matters when setting aside time to participate. A cumulative target would allow attempts to contribute across separate matches, while a single-session requirement would demand reaching the target within the same run. The announcement establishes neither rule, so players should not treat either interpretation as confirmed.
The announced reward remains 100 Accolades. Its distribution arrangements are not detailed, including when players should expect to receive it after meeting the objective. There is therefore no confirmed basis for expecting an immediate payout.
Complete the objective before November 3
The deadline is worded “before November 03”. Players planning around the event should read that as before November 3, rather than assuming the date itself remains available for finishing the challenge. Completing the target ahead of that date avoids relying on an extra day the announcement does not promise.
The notice was published on October 20, 2026, but its deadline text specifies no year, closing time or time zone. The publication date provides context for the announcement; it does not establish an exact cutoff that can reliably be converted to a reader’s local time.
For players targeting the Accolades, the concrete objective is survival in Chaos Siege Mode before the stated date. The practical planning issue is whether the required waves can be spread across matches, so leave room for that uncertainty when arranging attempts.
