World of Warcraft: Forever is now live, Blizzard has announced. Presented as a permanent experience alongside the modern and Classic versions of World of Warcraft, it offers more than 1,000 new quests across a journey from level 1 to level 60.
The release also introduces the playable Skyborne race and gives players a choice of experience presets when they first log in. Those presets set initial appearance and interface options, which can be adjusted later.

A new journey across the original continents
In its announcement published on November 4, Blizzard places the adventure after Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core. The journey takes players across the original continents, with new quests spread throughout the path to level 60.
Blizzard names Mount Hyjal, Shen’dralas, the Riverglades and Zephras Isle among the new destinations. The Riverglades account for more than 150 new quests, covering much of the progression from the mid-30s to the mid-40s. That gives the middle of the leveling journey a substantial new area to explore, alongside the new starting experience on Zephras Isle.
Skyborne characters choose a faction
The Skyborne begin on Zephras Isle, where their starting experience covers levels 1 to 12. Players choose whether their Skyborne character joins the Horde or the Alliance during character creation.
Blizzard names class choices associated with each faction: Horde Windshapers can be shamans, while Alliance High-Order Skyborne can be mages. The announcement also lists new combinations for other races, including orc mage, troll warlock, undead paladin, human hunter, gnome priest and dwarf shaman.
Classic and Enhanced settings can be changed
At first login, players choose an experience preset before selecting their ruleset. Classic starts with standard models and turns off quest points of interest, the single bag and transmogrification. Enhanced starts with high-definition models and enables all three options.
The preset is a starting point rather than a fixed package. Individual settings can be changed in Game Menu > Options, so players can adjust the listed features separately after making their initial choice.
The choice between HD and SD models and animations is specific to each character and affects appearance, not abilities or progression. It can be changed in the options or at an in-game barber. Blizzard’s announcement does not specify platforms or access requirements for Forever.
